Falcons Open UW-Stout Invitational

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – The CUW men's golf team competed in the first round of the Wisconsin – Stout Invitational.

The Falcons finished with a total of 372 strokes which slotted them in 21st place.  Wisconsin – Eau Claire sits in the driver's seat with a total of 291 strokes.

Sophomore Nico Murgas-Bennett (Hartford, Wis.) led the Blue and White with 89 strokes.

In second place for the flock was freshman William Popp (Fitchburg, Wis.) with 93 strokes.

Right behind Popp was sophomore Joshua Samsell (Bay City, Mich.) with 94 strokes.

Rounding out the Blue and White were senior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) and junior Sterling Armstrong (Lake Barrington, Ill.) with 96 and 98 strokes respectively.  Sherman finished with one birdie on the par-four, 14th hole.

The Falcons continue their weekend on Monday for round two of the UW-Stout Invitational.
