Falcons Close Carthage Fall Classic

WEST DUNDEE, Ill. – The CUW men's golf team completed the Carthage Fall Classic on Saturday. The Falcons improved by four strokes from Friday to finish in 18th place at 652 strokes for a round of 324 strokes. The Titans of Illinois Wesleyan jumped Aurora on Saturday to win the contest at 554 strokes.

Senior Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) finished in 50th place at 155 strokes after a round of 78 strokes on Saturday.

Freshman Cole Shane (Park Ridge, Ill.) improved four strokes on Saturday at 79 strokes to finish at 162 strokes in 79th place.

Freshman Francisco Ascenio Beltra (Ibi, Spain) recorded a second round of 82 strokes to finish in 89th place at 164 strokes.

Senior Nick Roberts (Milwaukee, Wis.) dropped six strokes from Friday at 85 strokes to finish in 106th place at 176 strokes.

In 109th place was sophomore Joshua Samsell (Bay City, Mich. at 178 strokes after a round of 92 on Saturday.

The biggest drop of the day for CUW came from sophomore Jason Michalski (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.) at 92 strokes to finish in 113th place at 196 strokes.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran.
