Falcons Battle Bethel at US Bank Stadium

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The CUW baseball team traveled to US Bank Stadium, home of the Vikings, to take on the Bethel Royals in a doubleheader matchup.

Bethel got started quickly at the plate with a four-run top of the first. They added their fifth run of the game in the top of the third.

Senior Kyle Kosobucki (De Pere, Wis.) got the bats started for the Falcons with an RBI single past the pitcher to score sophomore Brooks Kalscheur (Middleton, Wis.). Senior Dillan Fike (Oak Lawn, Ill.) batted in senior Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.) to cut the deficit to three at 2-5.

Senior Drew Johnson (Menasha, Wis.) batted in the third Falcon run of the inning with senior Sam Beers (Janesville, Wis.) crossing the plate.

Bethel notched another run in the top of the fifth and five runs in the top of the seventh inning to seal the deal.

Fike sent a sacrifice fly out to right field to score senior Daniel Hahn (Cudahy, Wis.).

The Royals took the first game of the doubleheader with a final score of 4-11.

The second game of the matchup was all Bethel with a 0-9 finals score. The Royals went into the bottom of the sixth inning with the 0-3 lead but had six players cross the plate in their final inning at the plate to seal the deal.

The Falcons look to flip the script after their Minnesota trip when they take on UW-Milwaukee on Wednesday.
