Falcons Split Series at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. - The CUW ACHA team finished their final regular-season series at Adrian on Sunday evening.

The Falcons lit the lamp in the ninth minute off the stick of sophomore John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.) with an assist from junior Easton Williams (Racine, Wis.).

The Bulldogs went on to score three unanswered in the remaining 10 minutes to take the 3-1 lead going into the first intermission.

The Falcons scored first in the second period with two goals in the first seven minutes to tie the game at three.

Sophomore Nick Morch (Barrington, Ill.) found the back of the net off the stick of senior Ethan Natzke (Ballwin, Mo.).

The game-tying goal was scored by freshman Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.) with an assist from junior Scott Gregor (Ashland, Wis.).

Six seconds later, the Bulldogs took the lead once again at 4-3.

The Falcons tied it up again off the stick of Cassel with an assist from senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.).

The Bulldogs scored twice in the last minute of the second period to take the 6-4 lead going into the final frame.

Scott Gregor scored first in the third period with an assist for Swiatek to cut the deficit to one.

The Bulldogs pulled back to a two-goal lead with a goal with 2:06 left to play to take the 7-5 lead.

The Falcons looked to mount a comeback with a goal five seconds later off the stick of Easton Williams with an assist from freshman Nolan Judge (Glendale, Ariz.).

The comeback fell to the wayside with a final score of 7-6 in favor of the Bulldogs.

The Falcons look to snap back in the postseason with a Hap Cup matchup against Marian on Friday.
