Pre-match report: Falcons host Eagles, Sabres

MEQUON, Wis. -- Concordia Wisconsin returns to the court after nearly a week off from competition on Saturday with a doubleheader against Edgewood and Marian. The weekend will be highlighted by the rematch agains the Eagles, who faced the Falcons in the NACC Tournament Championship last season.

THE BASICS
Who: Concordia Wisconsin (4-0, 3-0 NACC) vs. Edgewood (4-4, 3-0 NACC), Marian (3-4, 2-1 NACC)
Where: CUW Tennis Courts (Mequon, Wis.)
When: Saturday, September 17 (10 am, 2 pm)

NOTES TO CONSIDER
- Everyone will be primed and ready for Saturday's 10 am match, as Concordia Wisconsin and Edgewood will faceoff in a rematch of last season's NACC Tournament Championship match. During the thrilling 5-4 decision last May 8, it came down to the final third set of the No. 3 singles that junior Sabine Jacobsen (Palatine, Ill.) earned the win.
- A season after winning a program-record 21 matches, the Falcons are off to a great start in 2016-17 by winning their first four matches. Of those matches, two have been by an easy 9-0 decision.
- Junior Elizabeth Carroll (Hartford, Wis.), sophomore Bailey Kelly (Racine, Wis.) and sophomore Ashley Solberg (Waukesha, Wis.) each enter the weekend undefeated in singles play at 4-0, 4-0 and 3-0, respectively.
- The doubles pairing of Jacobsen and senior Michaela Wagner (Oswego, Ill.) are unblemished at 4-0 this year.
- Edgewood bring's a 3-0 NACC records into Saturday morning and won its last league-match 9-0 over Aurora, However, they barely got by Alverno (5-4) and defeated Dominican (7-2) over the last two weeks.
- Marian is 2-1 in conference action, but dropped its last two matches overall, including a 6-3 decision at Alverno.
