Women’s tennis team plans to bring hardware home!

Mequon

Concordia's female netters are working hard to prepare for what should be an exciting 2010 fall season.

"I feel that we have a shot at winning the Northern Athletics Conference this year," said Coach AJ Segneri. "All of the ladies have been playing regularly and it has shown during the last few days of practice. I am looking forward to this season. Depth will be a strength for us."

Segneri has a total of fifteen candidates out for the team this year. Returnees include Kaitlyn Strehlow, last year's Freshmen Conference Player of the Year; Julie Spransy, who took third place at #4 singles; Jaclyn Ward (spransy's doubles teammate); Callie Reinke, who placed fourth at #6 singles; plus Lisa Peters and Lindsay Steineke.

Those veterans will be joined by an incoming freshmen class of: Klaudia Ansay, Jenny Ferrera, Meagan Harrington, Lisa Hennigan, Elina Maki, Phoebe Milner, Kristine Weber, Claire Van Alstyne, and Grace Rechel.

The women's tennis team is preparing the next week's match-up at UW-Whitewater on Friday, September 3. Segneri encouraged CUW students to "come support the women's tennis team this season as they battle to bring the Northern Athletics Conference title back to Mequon."
