MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The CUW women's soccer 2021 spring season came to an end on Sunday afternoon in the NACC North Division Finals. The Falcons fell short on Sunday afternoon, 2-1.
The Falcons struck first on Sunday when senior Allison McElwee (Laramie, Wyo.) was fouled in the box. Sophomore Selena Esten (Cedarburg, Wis.) put away the penalty kick to put the Falcons up 1-0 at halftime.
Mackenzie Larsen had a key defensive save in the first half to keep the Raiders off the scoreboard.
The Raiders took the match with two goals in the second half.
Junior Isabel Downs (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and Selena Esten both recorded two shots on Sunday. Allison McElwee also added a shot.
Senior Kaeley Sterkel (Dana Point, Calif.) finished the match with 10 saves.
CUW finished the year with an 8-3-0 record.
