VERONA, Wis. – The CUW women's lacrosse team fell short on the road at Edgewood on Tuesday night. The Eagles protected the nest with an 11-6 victory.
After an Edgewood goal, sophomore Eliana Fuchs (Brookfield, Wis.) found the back of the net off an assist from sophomore Anna Gong (Phoenix, Ariz.) with under 10 minutes left in the first quarter.
Fuchs tied the game with five minutes left in the first quarter to send the teams into the second quarter.
The Eagles scored five times in the second quarter.
Eliana Fuchs scored the final two goals in the third quarter to snap the 6-0 scoring run.
Sophomore Olivia Niego (La Grange, Ill.) and Eliana Fuchs scored on free-position shots in the fourth quarter.
The Eagles held a 41-18 advantage in shots on Tuesday.
Eliana Fuchs led the Falcons with seven shots.
Freshman Natalie Mackrell (Stuttgart, Germany) picked up three ground balls.
Freshman Sydney Dyba (Crown Point, Ind.) had 16 saves on 27 shots on Tuesday night.
CUW hosts Carroll on Thursday.
