Zazas named NACC Softball Position Player of the Week

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin Softball freshman Maddie Zazas has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Position Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Zazas (Mundelein, Ill.) hit .500 (11-for-22) over the Falcons final six games of their Florida trip. The rookie infielder moved into the leadoff spot for the Florida swing and was incredibly productive in doing so. She tallied three hits in three of the final six games and scored four runs, while driving in six over the week.

Zazas and the Falcons went 5-5 on the spring trip and own a 6-8 record heading into their Wisconsin opener on Wednesday. CUW is scheduled to take on Mount Mary in a non-conference doubleheader with first pitch set for 3 p.m. The doubleheader will take place at Whitefish Bay High School.
