Ashenden finishes 23rd at NCAA Regional

Rock Island, IL

Senior Andy Ashenden "may have" finished off his brilliant Concordia cross country career with a top 25 finish at the NCAA regionals today.

Aschenden's Falcon teammates, who won the NAC crown two weeks ago, were also 23rd collectively of the 39 teams competing at the Regional level.

"Our regional meet is the toughest in the country," said Coach Russ DeLap. "Andy knew he would have to have his best race ever to have a chance in making it to Nationals.

He ran his best race and will make the national meet if they take the top 5 teams. We should know by some time on Sunday."

"Andrew Braun, CUW's second finisher, had an "unbelievable race" according to DeLap. "He is our most improved runner over the course of the season." DeLap also heaped praise on Ben Pape, Kevin Gries, TJ Helgren (improving his best time by over a minute), Danny Fecht, and Jordan Guenther.
