Men’s Golf finishes second at WLC Fall Invitational

HARTFORD, Wis. – The CUW men's golf team finished the two-day WLC Fall Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons ended the competition in second place at 772 strokes. Wisconsin Lutheran won the competition at 757 strokes. Bryant & Stratton finished in third place at 797 strokes and Judson ended in fourth place at 810 strokes.

After breaking a school record on Friday, junior Jordan Carlton (Kewaskum, Wis.) earned the medalist honor with a second round of 78 strokes to finish at 145 strokes on the weekend, two strokes ahead of second place.

The lowest CUW round of the day came from senior Wyatt Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) and senior Nate Benjamin (Tucson, Ariz.) at 75 strokes on Sunday. Wilderman finished the weekend in a tie for fourth place at 149 strokes and Benjamin checked in at sixth place at 151 strokes.

In a tie for 17th place was senior Dylan Karvala (New Berlin, Wis.) at 162 strokes. Karvala notched a round of 83 strokes on Sunday.

Freshman Nick Klemm (Sussex, Wis.) improved a stroke from Saturday with a round of 82 strokes on Sunday to finish in 21st place at 165 strokes.

Sophomore Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) also improved four strokes from Saturday at 84 strokes for a 25th-place finish at 172 strokes.

Competing as individuals for CUW were sophomore Carsten Zange (Robins, Iowa) at 166 strokes after a round of 82 strokes on Sunday, freshman Casey Mindt (Beaver Dam, Wis.) at 186 strokes after a 94-stroke performance on Sunday and sophomore Tyberius Neideffer (Racine, Wis.) at 117 strokes on Sunday to close the weekend at 233 strokes.

The Falcons will return to action on Friday at Old Hickory Golf Club against MSOE and Wisconsin Lutheran.
