Men's Basketball, three student-athletes honored by NABC for academic excellence

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Concordia Wisconsin's Men's Basketball program and three student-athletes were honored by the National Basketball Coaches Association for their work in the classroom. Seniors Caleb Keshemberg and Trevor Krizenesky and junior Eric Kittel achieved the effort while helping the Falcons to a 16-10 record this past season.

The Falcons as a team achieved a 3.46 team GPA during the first semester.

Keshemberg, a native of Grafton, Wis., earned his Bachelor's Degree in Finance this past school year. He appeared in two games and scored nine points, including a seven-point outburst during the Concordia Invitational Tournament against Concordia Chicago (January 29).

Krizenesky (Brillion, Wis.) is currently working on earning his Bachelor's Degree in Education. The guard appeared in all 26 games for the Falcons, averaging 8.5 points and a 2.08 assist-to-turnover ratio. He drained 43 long balls and had three 20-plus point scoring games during a four game span late in the season.

Kittel (Brillion, Wis.) is working on his Bachelor's Degree in sports management. The guard was the catalyst for the Falcons on both ends of the floor last season, leading the team in scoring (411 points), steals (62), assists (77) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.08). He was also third on the team in rebounds (107) and 46.5 percent during the season. Kittel also had six games with 20 or more points.

The qualifications for the NABC academic honors court award were: academically a junior or senior and a varsity player, cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2015-16 academic year, student must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution and member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach. As well, a team can be recognized if obtaining a minimum of a 3.0 GPA or higher.
