Evan Lischka Named CSC Academic All-American

MEQUON, Wis. – Evan Lischka received a prestigious honor on Tuesday morning. Lischka was named to the 2023 CSC Football Academic All-American Second Team, announced by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday morning. This is the first time that Lischka has claimed the honor.

"I am grateful to receive this award," said Lischka. "I am thankful for my coaches, teammates, and professors who have helped me along the way."

A senior defensive back from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, Evan Lischka claimed the honor with a 3.77 cumulative grade-point average.

Lischka collected many honors this year with a D3Football.com All-Region Second Team selection and a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) All-Conference First Team selection.

He led the NACC with only playing in eight games with five interceptions and 10 passes defended. He finished the year with 34 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, and forced and recovered a fumble for a touchdown. He had interceptions against Lakeland, Wisconsin Lutheran, Concordia Chicago and two against Benedictine.

"I am so proud of Evan," said CUW football head coach Greg Etter. "He works incredibly hard in the classroom and on the field, so to see him get honored is amazing. This is a great day for our program. I know that the guys are very happy and proud of him. To have an Academic All-American is an amazing honor to have."

Lischka is the first Concordia Wisconsin football player to be named as a CSC Academic All-American.

The Manitowoc native is the eighth Falcon to claim Academic All-America honors from CSC joining Jordan Johnson (men's basketball), Emily Hafemann (women's basketball), Justin Totsky (men's soccer), Andy Ellingham (men's volleyball), Kelsey Bollon (softball), Isabel Downs (women's soccer) and Jordan Lafferty (women's soccer).

The 2023 Academic All-American® Football Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
