Sellers Secures a Spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week

MEQUON, Wis. – On Tuesday morning, D3football.com released its weekly D3Football.com Team of the Week. Marquiton Sellers was named to the team for his performance at Lakeland.

On Saturday, he tallied seven tackles - including two tackles for loss and a sack - in CUW's 31-28 Cheese Bowl victory over Lakeland. Sellers' sack came on a fourth down midway through the second quarter. The Falcons scored a touchdown on the ensuing play following the turnover-on-downs. He also had the game-winning tackle on a fourth-down stop at the CUW 7-yard line with 22 seconds left.

Sellers is the fifth Falcon in program history to claim the honor and the first since 2013. He joins the company of Austin Damaschke, Mike Steinmetz, Cedric Simmons, who claimed the honor on two occasions and Eric Hamilton, who also claimed the honor on two separate occasions.

Sellers and the Falcons return to play on Saturday when they look to retain the Luther Cup against Wisconsin Lutheran.

The Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, is D3football.com's weekly honor roll, in its 25th season of recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week. Players are nominated by schools.
