Football Rolls at Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Falcons continued their winning streak with a 42-21 victory at Rockford on Saturday afternoon. CUW improves to 4-1 and to 2-1 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC).

The Regents were the first team on the scoreboard on Saturday.

Four minutes later, senior James Linn (Chino Hills, Calif.) threw a three-yard pass to sophomore TJ Harrold (Rosenberg, Texas) to tie the game.

James Linn found the endzone on a one-yard rush to give the Falcons a 14-7 lead heading into the second quarter.

The Purple and White scored two touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 21-14 lead into halftime, but it was all Falcons in the second half.

Junior Samuel Campbell Jr. (Milwaukee, Wis.) connected with James Linn for a 41-yard touchdown catch to start the scoring in the third quarter.

Senior Christian Booker (Chicago) also brought in a 28-yard catch from Linn to give the Falcons a 28-21 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Falcons closed the game with their rushing game with sophomore Ronell James (Brown Deer, Wis.) scoring on a six-yard rush and junior Michael Joshua Jr. (Richton Park, Ill.) striking on a five-yard run.

Sophomore Gio Nowotarski (Reading, Pa.) forced a fumble and had 10 tackles to lead the Falcons on Saturday.

James Linn threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns.

Ronell James led the rushing attack with 46 yards.

The Falcons return home and host Eureka on Saturday for Homecoming.
