Football rally falls short at Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The CUW football team fell short in the regular-season finale at Rockford on Saturday. The Regents defeated CUW, 20-14, to send CUW to 1-2 on the year. The loss drops the Falcons out of contention for the NACC Championship

The Regents jumped out to a 20-0 lead at halftime.

The Falcons were able to get on the scoreboard with 4:17 left in the game with a 13-yard pass from James Linn to Tim Houlihan.

The Blue and White closed the scoring with eight seconds left with a five-yard rush from James Linn.

The CUW defense forced two fumbles on Saturday with Ryley McCreary and Troy Stewart. Jarod Ontiveros recovered one fumble in the loss.

The Falcons finish the year on April 17 against Eureka.
