Baseball fifth in first regional rankings

The first NCAA Division III Baseball regional rankings were released Thursday and the Concordia University Wisconsin Baseball Team finds itself among the top teams in the Midwest.

The Falcons, who are currently on an eight-game winning streak, are ranked fifth in the Midwest. UW-Whitewater is the top-ranked team in the region, while NACC-member Concordia Chicago is ranked second.

St. Scholastica checks in at No. 3 followed by St. Thomas. After the Falcons is UW-La Crosse, followed by the third NACC team represented in Benedictine. UW-Oshkosh rounds out the top eight.

The Falcons have played well against the top teams in the region this season, posting a 5-1 record against the other seven teams. CUW defeated UW-Whitewater and UW-Oshkosh in singles games and swept Benedictine this past Sunday. The Falcons split a twinbill against Concordia Chicago.
