Falcons Soar Past Adrian on Senior Day

MEQUON, Wis. – The Falcons posted a perfect record at home in 2022 with a 246.705 to 243.545 victory over Adrian to celebrate senior day. The Blue and White improve to 4-1 on the season and sent the Bulldogs to 3-2, with both of their losses coming to Concordia.

The Falcons took an early lead with 33.75 points in the compulsory event on Saturday. The Falcons scored a season-best 9.75 points in the toss heat.

The birds added onto the lead with a season-high performance of 27.60 points in the acro event. CUW had a season-best score of 9.10 points with sophomore Dakoda Spaeth (West Bend, Wis.), junior Jessi Alexander (Plainfield, Ill.) and junior Amy Eberth (Basehor, Kan.) in the six-element heat.

The only event of the day where the Bulldogs bested CUW was in the pyramid event, where CUW landed 26.65 points.

The Blue and White tacked on 25.20 points in the toss event.

CUW finished with a season-high score of 48.15 points in the tumbling event. The duo pass of Jessi Alexander and freshman Ellen Mary Sanders (Joppa, Md.) earned a season-high score of 7.15 points. The six-element pass of Jessi Alexander landed a season-high score of 8.15 points as did the open pass with sophomore Paityn Taormina (Geneva, Ill.) at 8.80 points.

The Falcons ended the day with 87.73 points in the team event.

This is the second time in program history that the Falcons finish the home portion of the schedule undefeated. The first time was the COVID-19-shorted 2020 season.

CUW improves to 11-3 all-time against the Bulldogs.

The CUW acrobatics & tumbling program honored the senior duo of Kara Skevis (Lockport, Ill.) and Nicki Jack (Orange, Calif.) on Saturday. The duo moved into a tie for the winningest class in program history with the 14th career victory on Saturday.

Concordia Wisconsin wraps up the regular season on April 10 at Trine.
