Cross Country programs land on USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams
NEW ORLEANS - The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's and Women's Cross Country teams were recognized by the USTFCCCA Thursday, both being named All-Academic for the 2016 season. In addition, junior Nora Imperl was honored with an individual All-Academic award for her efforts at the regional meet and in the classroom.
In order to be an All-Academic Team, the entire roster must finish with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.10. The Falcons Men's team finished the year with a 3.35 GPA, while the Women's squad ended with a 3.53 GPA. All-in-all 389 teams were honored, 216 on the women's side and 173 men's teams.
Imperl (Greenfield, Wis.) had a strong season for the Falcons in terms of her running performance, but Thursday's announcement shows she was just as impressive in the classroom. Imperl qualified for the All-Academic Individual Team by finishing with a 3.30 or higher GPA and by finishing in the top-25 percent at the regional meet this past fall.
The Falcons were one of four NACC programs to have both their men's and women's team honored as All-Academic. Benedictine, MSOE, and Wisconsin Lutheran all had each of their teams represented as well. In addition, the Edgewood women's team was honored.
