Imperl lands on USTFCCA All-Midwest Region Team

NEW ORLEANS – For the second straight season, the Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Cross Country team has landed a USTFCCA All-Region runner. This year, junior Nora Imperl ran to the honors after placing inside the Top 35 last Saturday at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals.

Imperl (Greenfield, Wis.) placed 18th at the regional with a PR time of 22:28. She just missed out on becoming a qualifier for the NCAA Championships, as she needed one more team from the region to be selected as an at-large candidate. The NCAA Championships takes the top seven runners after the teams have been selected, and Imperl was eighth among those not on NCAA qualifying teams.

Still, Imperl will head into the offseason, and track season, with a lot to be proud about from her junior year. She won a couple races early and proved herself to be one of the best runners not only in the NACC but the region.

Last season, Marya Haegler was selected as an All-Region runner for the Falcons. This season, Imperl was one of 279 women selected to All-Region status and one of seven runners from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. Edgewood placed three on the All-Region team, Aurora added two, and Benedictine also had one.
