De Lap running 24 hours straight in Run For Lilly effort

Concordia University Wisconsin Cross Country and Track & Field head coach Russ De Lap plans on running 24 consecutive hours this weekend in an effort to raise money for student-athlete Lilly Johnson.

Johnson was diagnosed with 2B Hodgkin's Lymphoma and the Falcons have dedicated the 2016 season to their teammate. Not only has CUW Run for Lilly this season, but the support for the other schools in the NACC has been impressive as well.

De Lap will be running the campus loop and his goal is to reach 100 miles. Those wishing to help with the cause can do so by making a pledge per mile. You can also help De Lap by running and/or cheering him on at any point during his run. Pledges can be sent to Zachary.Ziemann@cuw.edu. Coach De Lap will begin his run on November 5th at 11 a.m.

In addition, this weekend will be the 20th Annual President's Run/Walk. The 5K event will take place Saturday, November 5 at 9 a.m. Registration can be done on race day and is $25 with money going towards Lilly's fight. If students are interested in registering they can visit CUW Assistant Coach Samantha Stark to fill out a form or fill out the form the day of the race.
