Women's Cross Country 10th in Preseason Midwest Region poll

NEW ORLEANS – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Cross Country team was ranked 10th in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Preseason poll, which the organization released Tuesday. The Falcons are coming off their best-ever regional finish from last season.

CUW placed 10th at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals a season ago and return five of the seven runners who competed at the meet. Among those returners are a pair of All-NACC runners, senior Ashley Scheele (Kohler, Wis.) and junior Nora Imperl (Greenfield, Wis.).

The Falcons were the only NACC school in the preseason rankings. Defending regional champion Washington University (Mo.) is ranked first followed by a trio of WIAC schools, UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire and UW-Oshkosh.

CUW will begin its 2016 season Thursday in a dual against MSOE. The Falcons first championship distance meet will be September 10 when they host the Ken Weidt Classic.
