De Lap reaches goal, runs 101 miles in 24 hours: UPDATE: MJS Story

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin head coach Russ De Lap had a goal of running 100 miles in a 24-hour period in an effort to raise money for Lilly Johnson, a student-athlete who was diagnosed with 2B Hodgkin's Lymphoma. De Lap completed that goal Saturday, running 101 miles in the 24-hour span.

"It was an amazing day and an inspirational journey," said De Lap. "It was very tough but the cross country and track & field teams were phenomenal in supporting my 24 hour run along with all those who came out to run with me."

The day was a success as not only did De Lap complete his goal, but the funds raised for Lilly also greatly exceeded expectations. De Lap estimates that $9500 was raised on Saturday for Lilly. Included in that was a great turnout at the President's Run, in which the registration went towards Lilly and her fight.

De Lap started his run Saturday morning and completed the 101 miles on Sunday. Overall it was a great day as the Falcons once again Ran For Lilly.
