#CUWStatsInfo: Katz becomes program's fastest coach to 100 wins

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin Women's Volleyball has been highly successful during head coach Janelle Katz's tenure and as a result, she reached the 100 wins milestone last Friday. The Falcons have won over 20 matches now three times during her fifth year at the helm.

CUWFalcons.com took a look at her first 100 victories and notes of importance during her time.

THE FIRST WIN: It surely didn't take long for the Falcons to give head coach Janelle Katz her first victory as a head coach, winning 3-0 in the 2013 season-opener over Concordia Ann Arbor at home. It was also a win that gained them momentum going into the following contest they won over Concordia Chicago to earn a Concordia Invitational Tournament title.

HOME DOMINANCE: It's always important to win on your home court and the Falcons have been dominant inside the R. John Buuck Field House over the past four-plus seasons. They have compiled a 40-10 record when playing at home, which included a 13-match winning streak that nearly spanned the length of a season. They are 10-1 when playing at home this year.

SWEEP, SWEEP, SWEEP: At times, Concordia Wisconsin makes things look easy, especially during the 2014, 2016 and 2017 seasons. During those three seasons, they were a combined 52-6 in matches that went three sets. Overall, Katz has guided her program to a 70-21 record in matches that have gone the minimum numbers of sets. This season they are 18-1 in matches that have played three frames.

FASTEST TO 100: Head coach Janelle Katz earned her 100th career victory last Friday – a 3-0 sweep at Dominican – which was her 148th career match coached.

NACC CHAMPIONSHIP: The Falcons captured their second conference title in program history last year with an undefeated 11-0 record in NACC play. They also went on to capture the NACC Tournament Championship, which earned them a bid into the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history, all under the guidance of Katz.
