Falcons remain perfect in NACC play

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Concordia Wisconsin defeated Concordia Chicago on Saturday afternoon 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-16) to remain perfect in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. The Falcons have now won six of their eight conference matches by sweep.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- As has been the case all season, Concordia Wisconsin overwhelmed its opponent late in each set, which resulted in another sweeping victory. This time they put together a 7-4 scoring run to close the second frame and a 9-4 advantage to end the match.
- A balanced offense was again the story, as five players had five or more kills for the visitors and were led by junior Amanda Schultz (North Prairie, Wis.) who had 10 kills and a .412 attack percentage.
- Sophomore Megan Mayer (Downers Grove, Ill.) tallied nine kills, senior Kaily (Moegenburg) Erdman (Plymouth, Wis.) recorded eight kills and sophomores Holly Anderson (Grant Park, Ill.) and Kendall Stribling (Greenfield, Wis.) each had five kills.
- Freshman Cristina Stinson (Aurora, Ill.) earned extended action and had a career-high-tying 17 assists, while junior Haley Sedo (Neenah, Wis.) assisted on 15 kills. Stinson also had nine digs.
- Sedo and Erdman also served a pair of aces, respectively.
- The defense was once again led by senior Lindsey Casper (Hubertus, Wis.) with 14 digs. Stribling recorded a team-high three block assists.
- There were nine scoring ties and four lead changes in the contest.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The 3-0 victory is the 19th this season for the Falcons of their 22 total wins.
- The Falcons defeated the Cougars for the 10th-consecutive time and nine of those resulted in a 3-0 win.

THE OPPOSITION
- Shannon Stamp paced the Cougars with seven kills and a .583 attack percentage, while Nikki Crowley had 20 assists.
- Elise Sombke dug 14 attack attempts and Stamp recorded four block assists.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- Concordia Wisconsin will host Aurora on Friday at 7 pm inside the R. John Buuck Field House in a might that will likely determine the winner of the NACC regular season.
