Falcons take care of business against Eagles

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin fought off Edgewood in the opening set before engaging cruise control during a 3-0 (27-25, 25-18, 25-16) victory on Tuesday night inside the R. John Buuck Field House. The Falcons are in the driver's seat for NACC regular season title with an undefeated record and two conference matches to play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Just five scoring ties and a lead change occurred in the match, all in the first set as both teams went back and forth. Edgewood led by as many as five points early on before Concordia Wisconsin tied the scoreboard at 15-15. The Eagles answered by going back in front with a 19-16 advantage.
- The Falcons clawed their way back in the frame and eventually scored four of the final five points to claim a 27-25 win and a 1-0 lead in the matchup.
- Concordia Wisconsin controlled sets two and three and flew past Edgewood en route to its seventh NACC sweep of the season. The Falcons led by as many as nine points in set two and 12 in the final stanza.
- The hosts hit an impressive .290 (45K-14E-107A) as a team and limited the visitors to a .093 attack percentage (28K-18E-108A).
- Junior Megan Jehlicka (Salem, Wis.) had a team-high 12 kills and a career-high .429 attack percentage (12K-3E-21A) to pace the Falcons lineup. Junior Kaily Moegenburg (Plymouth, Wis.) tallied 11 kills and posted an impressive .479 attack percentage (11K-1E-21A).
- Senior Karina Klotz (Hubertus, Wis.) recorded 19 assists and had nine digs, while sophomore Mackenzie Wockenfus (Appleton, Wis.) finished with 15 assists and eight digs.
- Moegenburg also had 15 digs for a double-double, to go along with two service aces.
- Junior Lauren Nevinski (New Berlin, Wis.) added three block assists, and Jehlicka and freshman Kendall Stribling (Greenfield, Wis.) each had two block assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons haven't lost a home conference match this season.
- Klotz moves her career assist total to 1,972 and has the chance to become the fourth player in program history to record 2,000 career assists this weekend.

THE OPPOSITION
- Emily Chaussee led the Eagles with 10 kills and .241 attack percentage. Haley Schwenn and Alex Zapuchlak had 12 and 11 assists, respectively.
- Grace Zimmer led the defensive efforts with 14 digs.
