Courtside Notes: Lake Forest on the docket for Volleyball

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin is in the middle of a seven-match non-conference swing that continues with a contest against Lake Forest on Tuesday at 7 pm inside the R. John Buuck Field House. The Falcons are 6-3 in non-league matches this season.

CUW PLAYER TO WATCH: Terese Zymanek has had some outstanding matches this season and recently she has hit .233 over the last four matches (27K-10E-73A). The junior is third on the team with 65 kills and has a .195 attack percentage.

TOP-10 NATIONALLY: The Falcons are showning its defensive abilities this season, ranking eighth nationally in blocks per set (2.52), as of September 14. Lauren Nevinski is third in the nation with a 1.50 blocks per set average.

STEPPING AWAY: CUW is in the midst of a streak that features seven non-conference matches covering eight days. They return to NACC play on September 30.

WE FOOLED YOU: The Falcons are serving at different speeds and floaters to score points, which is evident by their 2.05 service aces per set average. They are on pace to set a new team single season record.

FEW HOME NON-CONFERENCE MATCHES: The Falcons haven't played many non-conference matches at home during head coach Janelle Gabrielsen-Katz's tenure. They are 5-4 over the past three-plus seasons, but are 22-8 at home in all matches played during that stretch. Concordia Wisconsin is 16-5 over the last decade against non-conference foes inside the R. John Buuck Field House.
