Courtside Notes: Falcons return to NACC grind

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin returns to NACC  action for seven-straight, starting with a Saturday 2 pm match versus Lakeland.

THE BASICS
Who: Concordia Wisconsin (13-6, 4-0 NACC) vs. Lakeland (10-9, 3-1 NACC)
Where: R. John Buuck Field House (Mequon, Wis.)
When: Saturday, October 8, 2016 (2 pm)

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
CUW PLAYER TO WATCH: Ashley Jehlicka has been an all-around player for the Falcons in her sophomore season, recording four double-doubles and a near triple-double in two other matches. Jehlicka had 12 kills, 17 assists and nine digs against No. 12 UW-Whitewater on Wednesday night.

THE GRIND BEGINS: After 19 matches, including four in league play, the Falcons will play seven-straight on the schedule against NACC foes. They are currently tied for first in the standings with a 4-0 conference record.

SETTLING IN: During the month of September, the Falcons had just three home matches and 15 on the road. The schedule is much kinder going forward, with six of the final 11 matches to be played at home.

BECOMING A FORCE: Concordia Wisconsin's program has taken a step forward with head coach Janelle Katz, posting a 23-3 record in NACC play over the last two-plus seasons.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE MIXTURE: The Falcons have recorded 15 double-doubles this season by five different players. Ashley Jehlicka leads the team with five double-doubles, while Karina Klotz and Kaily Moegenburg each have four. In addition, Klotz has accumulated 20 double-doubles throughout the course of her career and all have been with assists and digs.
