Courtside Notes: Battle of the skies best compete on Tuesday

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin hosts Edgewood on Tuesday at 7 pm inside the R. John Buuck Field House.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
CUW PLAYER TO WATCH: Mackenzie Wockenfus is taking full advantage of her opportunity at hand, playing in all 11 sets over the last three matches and tallying 56 assists during that stretch. She had appeared in just seven sets until a week ago and recorded just 17 assists.

CLINCHED A SPOT: With Saturday night's victory over Dominican, the Falcons clinched a spot in the six-team NACC Tournament. They also have the inside track on the No. 1 seed.

EARLY DOMINANCE: The Falcons dominate matches early, winning the first set in 16-of-23 matches this season. As a result of their quick work in the opening set, they have recorded 13 victories this season by a 3-0 decision.

THE GOOD WITH THE BAD: CUW had served the ball decently in the first half of the season with 93 aces/93 errors through 12 matches. However, during the last 11 matches they've struggled with 54 aces/96 errors.

HOME IS WHERE WE PLAY THE BEST: The Falcons are playing extremely well at home this season, with a 5-1 record inside the friendly confines of the R. John Buuck Field House. They lone defeat was a non-conference match to 12th-ranked UW-Whitewater. Under the direction of fourth-year head coach Janelle Katz, Concordia Wisconsin is 25-9 when playing home matches (17-3 during NACC play).
