Ashley Samuta Secures NACC Weekly Honor

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced its weekly student-athlete of the week awards on Wednesday morning. Ashley Samuta was voted as the NACC Student-Athlete of the Week for women's tennis by the league's athletic communications professionals.

A senior from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Ashley Samuta is claiming the honor for the second time this year and the fifth time in her career.

Samuta helped the Falcons finish NACC play undefeated with 9-0 victories over the current third- and fourth-ranked teams in the league. She did drop a game in singles play defeating MSOE's Stephania Gonzales and WLC's Jena Smith by matching 6-0, 6-0 scores at No. 2 singles. She also went 2-0 with Ricki Budewitz at No. 1 doubles, posting an 8-0 victory at MSOE and an 8-4 win against WLC.

Samuta and the Falcons return to action again in the spring semester.
