Lake Forest stuns Women's Soccer in OT

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Sometimes the game can give you so much and then it can break you down emotionally, and Concordia Wisconsin felt the later on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 overtime defeat at Lake Forest on Farwell Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After 90 minutes of intense soccer the scoreboard was reading 0-0 and the operator put 10 more minutes on the clock for Concordia Wisconsin and Lake Forest to make something happen.
- It was Katelyn Hronek who found the back of the net at 99:42 to give the Foresters the thrilling victory.
- Statistics were nearly even across the board, except for Lake Forest's 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
- Sophomore Kayla Schlosser (Germantown, Wis.) took four shots in the game, with one on goal; while senior Brittany Klumpp (Rubicon, Wis.) had three shots and one on goal. Sophomore Ashley Johnson (Chesterfield, Mich.) had the Falcons third shot on goal.
- Senior Ariana Worthing (Saginaw, Mich.) played a complete game and made three saves in a losing effort.

BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Falcons have begun the season 0-2-0 four times before in head coach Ryan Middendorf's tenure and went on to win double-digit games in all but one of those seasons.
- Concordia Wisconsin is now 5-7-2 during Middendorf's career against Lake Forest.

THE OPPOSITION
- Cath Auger-Morin, Molly Major, Kayla Wuest and Hronek were each credited with a shot on goal.
- Rachel Tenuta had three saves in a complete game winning effort.

- Concordia Wisconsin's next match is Wednesday at UW-Whitewater, with a start time scheduled for 7 pm.
