Edgewood ends CUW soccer women's soccer season via penalty kicks

MADISON, Wis.  Edgewood (15-3-1) and Concordia Wisconsin (15-4-1) played to a 0-0 double OT stalemate, but the Eagles will advance to the NAC Championship via penalty kicks (4-3).

Ryan Middendorf's team outshot Edgewood 14-8, but most of those Falcon blasts sailed over the top as both goalies were credited with just a trio of saves.

CUW's Kate Pawelkiewicz (Fr./ Oshkosh, Wis.) , Kelly Bolli (Sr./ Eagle, Wis.), and Lauren Straehler (Sr./ Pewaukee, Wis.) were successful with their PK attempts, but three other Falcons misfired, with two of those shots rattling off the crossbar.

This was the fourth time in Concordia history that CUW has won 15 matches in a season and the 15-4-1 mark ties with the 2000 squad for the best-ever single season mark.
