Rockford is no match for CUW women's soccer

MEQUON, Wis.- Only four minutes had elapsed before this contest was decided.  Concordia had managed three separate goals in that brief time span on the way to an 11-0 rout of Rockford (0-2) Wednesday evening.

CUW mentor Ryan Middendorf did his best to hold down the score, allowing every player on his roster significant minutes.  Senior Lauren Straehler (Pewaukee, Wis.) scored two of the first three CUW goals but then was content to sit and cheer for her younger teammates.

After senior  Afton Hoch's (Macomb, Mich.) first goal of the season made it 11-0 with over 26 minutes remaining, the Falcons were content to working on tactical passing rather than goal scoring.

Final tallies showed a 47-0 shots on goal advantage for Concordia as the ball rarely crossed midfield.  Alyssa Ciesielczyk (Sr./Waukesha, Wis.) found the back of the net three times (twice on assists from her sister Emily, and freshman Brittany Klumpp (Hartford, Wis.) added a pair of scores.

Statistics padding is not part of Middendorf's repetoire as the 32 CUW players who each saw better than ten minutes of field time will attest to.  Concordia Wisconsn is now 1-0-0 in the NAC and 2-1-0 overall while the Rergents, who lost their opener 6-2 at Eureka, fell to 0-2.  CUW travels to North Central Saturday at 2:30pm for a non conference match.
