BIG week for men's soccer

BIG week for men's soccer

MEQUON, Wis.- Perennial champion Dominican, CUW, and Benedictine are the only undefeated teams on the men's side in conference play to date.  All have 2-0-0 records.   After Tom Saleska's Falcons travel to winless Maranatha on Thursday, they trek to Aurora Saturday to battle the Spartans who currently stand at 1-1-1 in the NAC.   Aurora's loss came at the hands of Edgewood, a 1-0 double overtime affair.

For the Falcons to figure in the 2012 conference mix, a win at Aurora is crucial.  Tom Saleska's team has been in every match this season but inability to "finish" golden opportunities, and then allowing subsequent late game winners by the opposition has been the CUW problem in non conference action.

Dominican, winner of the league title each of the past six seasons, has only allowed three goals this fall in seven matches against some high powered opposition.  In order to make that Oct. 20th home date against the Stars loom especially meaningful, the Falcons need a pair of wins this week.
