Falcons Silence Thunder in Shootout

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's hockey team picked up two points in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association on Friday night with a 3-3 tie. The Falcons move to 8-10-2 on the year and to 5-7-1 in the NCHA with 17 points.

Sophomore Charlotte Toor (Hartland, Wis.) started the scoring after she skated past a defender and scored from the far circle on assists from junior Brooke Gibson (LaSalle, Ont.) and junior Natalie Mackrell (Stuttgart, Germany).

The Thunder responded with two goals to take the lead.

A minute later, freshman Ella Tuccitto (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) tied the game with a blast from the point, off passes from junior Savannah Hutchins (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) and freshman Mackaylan McGown (Inver Grove, Minn.).

Trine reclaimed the lead at the 12:09 mark of the third period.

The Falcons responded once again with a goal from Mackaylan McGown after she set up next to the net on a breakaway with passes from Ella Tuccitto and junior Amanda Bauer (Waunakee, Wis.).

Brooke Gibson scored the lone goal of the shootout with a sensational five-hole snipe.

Junior Kami McCardle (Jackson, Wis.) collected 14 saves against the Thunder.

CUW held a 36-17 advantage in shots and was led by Brooke Gibson with six shots.

The Falcons look to close out the Thunder on Saturday.
