Van Hercke Named NCHA Defensive Player of the Week

DULUTH, Minn. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) announced ts Player of the Week awards on Tuesday afternoon. Annalina Van Hercke was voted as the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week for Women's Hockey.

A senior from Castle Rock, Colorado, Annalina Van Hercke is claiming the honor for the first time this season and for the second time in her career.

Van Hercke has had a blistering start to the season and broke the program record with 61 saves against St. Benedict.

Last weekend, she posted a pair of shutouts against Trine.

On Friday, she had 16 saves in a 3-0 victory at Trine.

She came in clutch again with 20 saves in a 1-0 victory over the Thunder.

The Colorado native is 4-1-1 on the season.

Van Hercke and the Falcons return to action on Friday against Marian.
