DE PERE, Wis. – The Falcons extended their unbeaten streak to three games with a road victory at St. Norbert. The Blue and White earned two points in the NCHA standings with the 3-0 victory. The CUW women's hockey program improves to 4-6-2 on the year and 3-1-1 in the NCHA.
Defense held supreme in the first period, with neither team finding the back of the net.
Junior Allison McElwee (Laramie, Wyo.) struck first at the 8:50 mark of the second period off a pass from sophomore Sarah Pearson (South Range, Wis.).
After scoring her first collegiate goal last week, Sarah Pearson added to the CUW lead in the second period off passes from Allison McElwee and sophomore Baileigh Johnson (Neillsville, Wis.).
Pearson snuck the puck in again in the third period, with McElwee and Johnson adding the assists again.
Senior Breanna Thomson (St. Marys, Ont.) posted a clean sheet with 24 saves. Friday was the second shut out of the season for Thomson.
The Blue and White held a 26-24 shots advantage on Friday.
The Falcons look to finish off the Green Knights on Saturday. The Blue and White are riding a four-game unbeaten streak against St. Norbert.
