Softball tabbed sixth in NACC preseason poll
MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW softball team was picked to finish in sixth place in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
The coaches and sports information directors voted the Falcons in sixth place with 170 points.
Aurora claimed the top spot with 266 points and 10 first-place votes. Benedictine finished four points behind at 262 points and nine first-place votes. Marian also received five first-place votes.
The Blue and White posted a 12-10 in conference play in 2018.
In 2018, Marian and Benedictine led the NACC at 17-5; Benedictine earned the NACC Tournament crown.
Benedictine is not eligible for the 2019 NACC Tournament.
A 22-game league slate will determine the NACC champion with the top six in the final regular-season standings advancing to the six-team conference tournament, which will be hosted by Aurora May 2-4 at Sam Bedrosian Stadium in Montgomery, Ill. The tournament champion receives the league's automatic berth to the 2019 NCAA Division III Softball Championship.
