Men's Track & Field places fourth at Wisconsin Private College Championships

DE PERE, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Track & Field team competed at the Wisconsin Private College Invitational Saturday. It was another successful day for the Falcons as they finished fourth at the meet hosted by St. Norbert.

There were less PRs than normal for the Falcons on Saturday, but that didn't stop the team from scoring 100 points for the fourth-place finish. Among the PRs was two athletes in the triple jump, Malcolm Bowers (Germantown, Wis.) and Logan Goss (Bolingbrook, Ill.). Bowers, who finished fifth in the event, leaped 6.37 meters, while Goss recorded a jump of 5.80 meters. Bathong Pham (Milwaukee, Wis.) didn't PR in the long jump, but did place fourth with a leap of 6.40 meters. Pham had several strong performances for the Falcons and scored many points in his events for the team. He finished sixth in the 100-meter dash and fifth in the pole vault. Goss also posted a PR in the triple jump at 12.24 meters.

Senior Andrew Faber (Germantown, Wis.) finished third in the javelin throw after setting a new PR at 48.67 meters. Faber also added a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw. The Falcons also got a PR from Jacob Schwark (Fraser, Mich.) in the shot put on Saturday as he recorded a toss of 10.64 meters. Schwark wasn't done with his personal-bests as he added one in the pole vault, clearing 3.50 meters. Trent Pacheco (Iron Mountain, Mich.) added a PR in the discus with a mark of 21.79 meters.

The final PR for the Falcons on Saturday came on the track as Emanuel Huerta-Gutierrez (Walworth, Wis.) posted his best time in the 800-meter run. Huerta-Gutierrez finished the race in 2:10.09. Brandon Goesch (Germantown, Wis.) finished fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:02.67.

The Falcons will next compete this Friday and Saturday at the NACC Outdoor Championships, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College. Friday's action is scheduled to get underway at 9:30 a.m.
