Men's Tennis concludes record-setting season in NCAA Tournament

ST. PETER, Minn. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Tennis team wrapped up a record-setting season with a 5-0 setback against UW-Whitewater in the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament Friday morning. The Falcons ended the year with a program-best 20 wins.

The day started with three doubles matches and a clean sweep for the Warhawks. The closest of those contests came at the No. 2 doubles position where Christian Docter (Madison, Wis.) and Ceejay Schaffner (Winona, Minn.) fell 8-5. The No. 1 duo of James Forster (Northbrook, Ill.) and Brad Guendel (Greendale, Wis.) dropped an 8-4 contest.

The first result in came at No. 3 doubles as the pairing of Gabe Binversie (Plymouth, Wis.) and Trevor Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) was defeated by an 8-1 score.

The Warhawks continued to roll in singles play, gaining wins at the No. 2 and 4 positions to secure the win. UW-Whitewater led in the other four matches as well.

The Falcons finish the season with a 20-7 overall record. CUW won a share of the NACC Regular Season Championship, as well as capturing the NACC Tournament.
