MEQUON, Wis. – Two of the top teams in the NACC met on the CUW Tennis Courts Wednesday in a match between Concordia University Wisconsin and MSOE. Those two teams didn't disappoint in delivering a thrilling matchup but it was the visiting Raiders who prevailed, handing CUW its first NACC loss of the season, 5-4.

- Records: CUW 16-6, 5-1 NACC; MSOE 8-16, 7-1 NACC

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons started the day well by winning two of three in doubles play. The first of those was a No. 1 singles victory by the duo of James Forster (Northbrook, Ill.) and Brad Guendel (Greendale, Wis.). Forster and Guendel rolled to an 8-3 win.

- MSOE gained an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles to pull the score even but the Falcons took the advantage into singles play with a thrilling win at No. 2 doubles. Christian Docter (Madison, Wis.) and Ceejay Schaffner (Winona, Minn.) outlasted the Raiders No. 2 team with a 9-8 (9-7) win.

- The Raiders took four of six singles matches to record the 5-4 victory. The Falcons were the first to record a win in singles play as Docter posted a straight set 6-3, 6-3 win in his No. 2 matchup. The Raiders got the next win, a 6-3, 6-4 decision in No. 3 singles.

- MSOE evened the score at 3-3 with the next decision coming at No. 6 singles (6-3, 7-5). The Falcons would go back on top with a No. 5 singles win by Guendel. The junior netted a three-set win, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.

- The Raiders would even things up once again by posting a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles. The match came down to the No. 4 bout where MSOE recorded the final win of the night in a three-set tiebreaker. The Raiders Austin Campbell gained the winning point, winning a three-set thriller, 6-0, 6-7 (10-8), 6-4.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- MSOE clinched at least a share of the NACC regular season crown with the win. The Falcons and Edgewood can still tie the Raiders with two conference wins Saturday.

- If a three-way tie occurs, CUW would receive the No. 1 seed in the NACC Tournament. The tiebreaker would come down to matches won between the three schools. CUW is 11-7 in such matches, winning 7-2 against Edgewood, along with the 5-4 setback tonight. MSOE is 9-9 in such matches as the Raiders fell by a 5-4 score against Edgewood. The Eagles are 7-11 in the two conference matches that would come into play for the tiebreaker.

- CUW will attempt for a share of the conference title with two home matches Saturday. The Falcons host Wisconsin Lutheran at 10 a.m. and Aurora at 2 p.m.
