Forster honored with NACC Men's Tennis weekly award

WAUKESHA, Wis. – James Forster was named the NACC Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Forster (Northbrook, Ill.) helped lead the Falcons to a NACC Tournament title this past weekend. CUW won two matches on Sunday, a 5-0 semifinals win over Aurora and a 5-0 win in the finals against MSOE.

Forster went 2-0 in doubles play and 1-0 in singles play to help lead the Falcons to the title. He and partner Brad Guendel gained two wins at No. 1 doubles, including an 8-0 rout in the semifinals. Forster and Guendel won 9-7 in the finals against MSOE.

Forster won his No. 1 singles matchup against Aurora 6-2, 6-2. His other singles contest went unfinished as the Falcons reached the clinching fifth point.

The weekly honor marks the seventh of the season for the Falcons. It was also the final weekly honor from the NACC this year, meaning CUW won half the awards throughout the season.

Forster and the Falcons will open the NCAA Tournament Friday against UW-Whitewater. The match will be played at Gustavus Adolphus.
