All-NACC Football postseason awards announced

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin had nin3 players earn All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference accolades, the league office announced Friday morning.

The Falcons had four student-athletes named All-NACC First Team – junior offensive lineman Connor Wagner (Mesa, Ariz.), senior defensive lineman Michael Ledesma (Glendale, Ariz.), sophomore punter Jacob Mason (Hartford, Wis.) and freshman returner Isaiah Tenette (Sacramento, Calif.)

Wagner started nine games and helped the Falcons pass for 3,101 yards and rush for 823 yards this season. The offense accumulated over 400 total offensive yards in five games, including a season-best 608 in a home game on October 8. Concordia Wisconsin also scored over 30 points four times.

Ledesma started all 10 games this season and finished with 43 total tackles (20 solo). He also had 14.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks (both second-most on the team). Ledesma finished with five or more tackles in five games.

Mason appeared in nine games and punted 48 times for 1,860 yards (38.8 average). He boomed eight punts over 50 yards and pinned the opposition inside the 20-yard line 16 times. Mason's best game of the season came on October 29, when he punted four times and averaged 48.2 yards per game.

Tenette played in all 10 games and returned 19 kickoffs for 465 yards for a 24.5 average (both third in the NACC). He returned on kick 85 yards for a touchdown during a home game on September 17. In all, twice this season he had over 100 kickoff return yards.

Senior wide receiver Danté Edwards (Glendale, Ariz.) started nine games this season and was named All-NACC Second Team. He led the offense with 59 receptions, 850 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was a less than a yard shy of averaging 100 per game (94.4). Edwards tallied four 100-yard receiving games and three times had multiple touchdown receptions.

Senior linebacker James Thomsen (Mount Prospect, Ill.) saw action in and started all 10 games, which resulted in All-NACC Second Team honors. He made 76 total tackles (30 solo) and had 4.0 tackles for loss. Twice this season he had 10-plus total tackles in a game and accumulated no less than five in a game.

The following three players received All-NACC Honorable Mention accolades.

Senior wide receiver Kevin Folker (Milwaukee, Wis.) appeared in all 10 games and made nine starts. He hauled in 57 passes for 773 yards and six touchdowns, all second-most on the team. Folker set career-highs for receptions (10 at Hope) and receiving yards (150 vs. Benedictine). Overall, he recorded three 100-yard games and twice hauled in a pair of touchdown passes in a single game.

Junior defensive back Richie Guess (Home Glen, Ill.) played in and started nine games. He was the top tackler on the Falcons defense with 88 total (52 solo), to go along with four fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles. Guess also recorded 1.5 sacks and 5.0 tackles for loss. He tallied double-digit tackles in five games, including a career-high 17 in the season finale.

Senior defensive back Malcolm Bowers (Germantown, Wis.) saw action in nine games and made six starts. He had 29 tackles (19 solo) and a team-best four interceptions, while also recovering and forcing a fumble. Bowers led the Falcons with eight pass breakups.
