Football chosen third in NACC Preseason Poll

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin's Football team was selected to finish third in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Preseason Poll, in a vote by the league's head coaches and athletic communicators.

The Falcons are coming off a 3-7 overall record from a year ago and a 3-3 in NACC play. CUW will look to fill the void of multiple seniors that were lost to graduation.

Lakeland was chosen defend its NACC title with 10 first-place votes and 93 points, while Benedictine was picked to finish second (84 total points, three first-place votes). CUW tallied 59 total points from the voters. Wisconsin Lutheran and Aurora tied for fourth with 55 points, while Wisconsin Lutheran received one first-place vote.

CUW opens their season on the road in a non-conference match-up against Finlandia at 1 pm (EST) on September 3 in Hancock, Mich. CUW will return to Tomasini Stadium the following Saturday for their home opener in a non-conference game versus Augsburg at 1 pm. The Falcons begin NACC play on October 1 when they travel to Lakeland.

The NACC's champion earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championship.
