- Location: Tomasini Stadium – Mequon, Wis.
- Records: Concordia Wisconsin 2-0; Augsburg 0-2

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons defense set the tone early as they recovered two fumbles on their first two series. The second of those was scooped up by junior Richie Guess (Homer Glenn, Ill.) and returned 20 yards for a touchdown, putting the Falcons on top 7-0 just under five minutes into the game.

- CUW went up 14-0 before the opening quarter ended as senior running back Logan Hass (Manawa, Wis.) ran in from four yards out with 3:32 remaining in the first. Hass finished the game with 86 yards on 20 attempts, averaging 4.3 yards per rush.

- The Falcons went on top 21-0 on a gorgeous 27-yard touchdown pass from junior Aaron Nixon (North Prairie, Wis.) to senior Dominic Saragaglia (Schaumburg, Ill.) with 7:36 to go in the opening half. Nixon finished the game with 238 yards passing, completing 18-of-30.

- The Auggies would cut the CUW lead to 14 before the half, when Isiah Malone returned an interception 39 yards for a touchdown.

- The second half was all about defense as CUW only managed a field goal, a 20-yarder by Kevin Kern (Arlington Heights, Ill.) with just under six minutes to go in the game.

- Augsburg would cut the Falcons lead to 24-14 and got the ball back late, but CUW held strong as senior Bryan Thomas (Lowell, Ind.) intercepted a pass in the end zone late to seal the victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- CUW blitzed early and often Saturday and it paid off with a seven sack performance for a total of 51 yards lost for the Auggies. Junior De'Shawn Pullen (Milwaukee, Wis.) paced the effort, recording two sacks for a total of 19 yards.

- Kern showcased his versatility as not only did he make field goals, but he added 1.5 sacks for eight yards. Sophomore Jacob Ryan (Winona, Minn.) added a sack for an eight yard loss.

- Not only were the Falcons sacking the opposing quarterback, but they were continuously making plays in the Auggies backfield Saturday. CUW finished with 16 tackles for a loss for a total of 91 yards. Kern led the way with three tackles in the opponent's backfield.

- Nixon added 32 yards on the ground for CUW, while freshman Isaiah Tenette (Sacramento, Calif.) showcased his big-play ability with six rushes for 31 yards, including a 19-yard run in the fourth quarter.

- The Falcons passing game could best be described as balanced on Saturday with eight players catching two or more passes.
