Women’s Lacrosse cruises past Marian

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Falcons breezed by the Sabres of Marian on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup. The Falcons sank the Sabres, 21-4, to improve to 4-4 on the year.

The Falcons blasted the Black and Blue with 14 goals in the first half.

The Blue and White opened the game with 11-straight goals.

Junior Sarah Pearson (South Range, Wis.) picked up the final goal of the first half off a pass from freshman Eliana Fuchs (Brookfield, Wis.).

Concordia ended the game on a 7-1 run.

Freshman Olivia Niego (La Grange, Ill.) led the game with five goals on the night, junior Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) followed behind with four goals on Tuesday. McPike also led the game with six draw controls. Niego caused a game-high three turnovers.

Sarah Pearson and freshman Savannah Schweiger (Eagle, Wis.) both picked up three goals against the Sabres.

Senior Valerie Miller (Wentzville, Mo.) and Eliana Fuchs led the game with two assists. Fuchs also roped in five draw controls.

Sophomore Colleen Gilligan (Colbrone, Ont.) vacuumed up five ground balls in the victory.

Senior Mallory Gurin (Westfield, Ind.) picked up two saves in the victory. Junior Kinsey Weyer (Stillwater, Minn.) earned five saves in relief.  

CUW scored 21 goals for the first time since April 11, 2018, when Concordia blasted Benedictine, 21-6.

The Falcons close the regular season on Thursday against Aurora.
