Women’s Lacrosse eats up Edgewood

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's lacrosse team feasted upon Edgewood in its first-ever NACC contest on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons grounded the Eagles to the tune of a 20-4 victory to send CUW to 2-2 on the year and to 1-0 in the NACC.

The Falcons opened the game with a pair of goals from junior Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.) and senior Hannah Beyer (Wayside, Wis.). That duo was responsible for seven of Concordia's nine goals in the first half.

The Falcons continued to pour it on in the second half with 11 more goals. After Edgewood scored 14 seconds into the half, the Falcons closed the game on an 11-0 run.

Freshman Eliana Fuchs (Brookfield, Wis.), Megan McPike, and freshman Savanah Schweiger (Eagle, Wis.) all had two goals in the second half.

Freshman Asiana Cothran (Baltimore, Md.) also scored her first collegiate goal on Wednesday.

Senior Mallory Gurin (Westfield, Ind.) had five saves in the victory.

The Falcons return to action on Wednesday against Aurora.
