Kurek earns MWLC Defensive Player of the Week honor

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's Allison Kurek earned Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second-consecutive time on Monday, the league office announced.

Kurek (Chicago, Ill.) helped the Falcons earn a pair of MWLC wins last week. In CUW's 16-7 win over Aurora, Kurek caused four turnovers, picked up four ground balls, won five draw controls and scored three goals. The freshman then caused two turnovers, picked up six ground balls, won a career-high nine draw controls, and scored a career-best five goals in a 15-7 win at Beloit.

For the week, Kurek amassed seven caused turnovers, 10 ground balls, 14 draw controls, and scored eight goals. The MWLC weekly honor is the second of her career and the second this season for the Falcons. She was previously named MWLC Defensive Player of the Week on March 30.
