Women's Hockey skates to Senior Day tie with St. Scholastica

MEQUON, Wis. – Six Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey seniors were honored in their final home game at the Ozaukee Ice Center Saturday as the Falcons skated to a 1-1 tie with St. Scholastica. Lexi Machuga, Katherine Pauletti, Hannah Zobel, Chelsea Regan, Jayda Hoerres and Nina Puch all played in their final home contests with the Falcons.

THE BASICS
- Final Score: Concordia Wisconsin 1, St. Scholastica 1
- Location: Ozaukee Ice Center – Mequon, Wis.
- Records: Concordia Wisconsin 8-14-2, 6-11-1 NCHA; St. Scholastica 7-13-2, 6-8-2 NCHA

HOW IT HAPPENED
- All the scoring came in the opening 20 minutes of play, both goals coming late in the first period. St. Scholastica went up 1-0 with 2:45 left in the first on a power play score from Taylor Guzzo. The score came eight seconds into a Saints power play.

- Freshman Ellie Woodman (Janesville, Wis.) delivered the game-tying score for the Falcons just 47 seconds later, her second score of the year. Junior Brandi Muller (Anchorage, Alaska) assisted on the Falcons lone goal.

- It was another dual between the goaltenders on Saturday as freshman Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) and Lindsey Hartfiel of St. Scholastica traded save after save. Pattengale finished the game with 26 stops as the Falcons held a 32-27 edge in shots.

- Both teams were whistled for two penalties, combining for a total of eight minutes in the box.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The six seniors have won 33 games over their careers, including 12 a season ago. Last season was the most memorable for the Falcons as they advanced to the NCHA Championship game, knocking off top-seeded Adrian (No. 4 nationally) to reach that point.

- Pauletti (Roseville, Minn.) and Machuga (Rochester Hills, Mich.) each played in their 103rd game on Saturday. Neither player has missed a game in their career and when they lace the skates up for the 104th and final time next weekend they will be tied for second all-time in games played.

- Regan (Oakdale, Minn.) has 35 career points, which trails only Sara Cole (37 points) among Falcons defenders for points in a career.

UP NEXT
- The six seniors will wrap up their careers next weekend with a non-conference matchup at UW-Stevens Point. The Saturday contest is set for a 2:30 p.m. start.
