Women's Hockey lands NCHA best 11 on All-Academic team
WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's Hockey team placed a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association best 11 players on the All-Academic team, the league office announced Thursday.
The Falcons were one of two teams in the league to have double-digit players land on the All-Academic Team, as Adrian had 10 players honored. In addition, CUW had four of the eight players receive the honor for the third time. Players must be sophomores to be considered for the recognition.
The four three-year honorees for the Falcons were seniors Jayda Hoerres (Melrose, Wis.), Katherine Pauletti (Roseville, Minn.), Nina Puch (Des Plaines, Ill.) and Chelsea Regan (Oakdale, Minn.). Each player maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA over the last three seasons, the other requirement for All-Academic recognition.
The Falcons had two juniors selected for the second year in Nicole Krumwiede (Itasca, Ill.) and Veronika Metanova (Palatine, Ill.).
In addition CUW had five sophomores honored in their first year being eligible for All-Academic recognition. The five sophomores were Chloe Bachman (St. Peter, Minn.), Lexi Holman (Sauk Rapids, Minn.), Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill.), Rebecca Prigge (Stillwater, Minn.) and Maddy Zastrow (Greendale, Wis.).
The NCHA had a total of 50 players selected on the Women's side for the seven league teams. A release from the conference, with a list of all All-Academic selections, can be found here.
